How SnapTaxi Protects Creators

Important Reminder

Treat your OBS browser source URL like a private stream key. If it ever leaks, use the setup dashboard or !overlayrotate to rotate it.

Common question: “Is it safe to connect my Twitch account?” This page explains the protections built into the SnapTaxiBot setup flow for Twitch creators, Marvel Snap streamers, OBS browser sources, private overlay links, and chat command controls.

Secure Twitch Sign-In Instead Of PasswordsCreators use Twitch’s official sign-in screen. SnapTaxiBot never asks for, receives, or stores your Twitch password.
Minimal Setup PurposeThe setup page uses Twitch sign-in to confirm which channel you control and to show your private overlay tools.
Private OBS LinksOBS browser source URLs include long random keys. They are not posted publicly in chat, and they can be rotated if exposed.
Read-Only Overlay KeysOverlay keys are for viewing overlay output, not logging in to Twitch or controlling your Twitch account.
Creator-Only Setup ActionsSetup reset, private overlay requests, and key rotation are restricted to the broadcaster/setup session paths.
Moderator ChecksThe readiness checklist explicitly tells creators when SnapTaxiBot still needs moderator access before channel tools can work.
Feature ControlCreators can choose which feature areas are enabled instead of turning on every command automatically.
No Public Identity DumpThe setup site avoids publishing private sign-in details, tokens, emails, or OBS keys in public Twitch chat.
